Optional practice day for contestants.

Practice on stage pianos by special appointment (contact Dr. Houle). Albertson College also has practice rooms available throughout the festival.

7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

Adjudications of up to six Boise area contestants.

Friday, April 26, 2002

8:45 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Adjudication of approximately 30 contestants (priority to local area students), Langroise Center Recital Hall.

Optional educational presentations for all teachers and students (details coming soon), Langroise Center Room 114.

Separate adjudications of students applying for "DIGITAL PIANO PROFICIENCY" category, Langroise Center various rooms.

7:00 P.M.

Concert by renowned pianist Sergey Schepkin (attendance optional but highly recommended), Langroise Center Recital Hall.

Saturday, April 27, 2002

9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Adjudication of approximately 20-25 contestants (priority to regional area students), Langroise Center Recital Hall.

Optional educational presentations for all teachers and students (details coming soon), Langroise Center Room 114.

Separate adjudications of students applying for "DIGITAL PIANO PROFICIENCY" category, Langroise Center various rooms.

6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Registration of ALL contestants (mandatory), Langroise Center Foyer (right outside recital hall).

6:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.

Short Lecture by Stuart Isacoff on his new book Temperament: The Idea that Solved Music's Greatest Riddle, Langroise Center Recital Hall.

7:00 P.M

Judges' and Director's presentations (mandatory attendance), Langroise Center Recital Hall. Exciting, creative performances and discussions of classical and jazz piano.

Sunday, April 28, 2002

9:15 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.

Stuart Isacoff: IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP for students, teachers, and the general public, Langroise Center Room 114.

10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Adjudication of approximately 15-20 contestants (priority to students traveling from out of state or country), Langroise Center Recital Hall.

Optional educational presentations for all teachers and students (details coming soon), Langroise Center Room 114.

Separate adjudications of students applying for "DIGITAL PIANO PROFICIENCY" category, Langroise Center various rooms.

3:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Judges deliberate.

4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.

Complimentary buffet dinner (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) available for contestants and guests, Langroise Center Foyer (right outside recital hall).

5:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Announcement of First Prize Winners and Digital Category Finalists.

7:00 P.M.

Winners Recital –– each winner plays at least one selection (judges' choice). Mandatory attendance for all contestants.

8:30 P.M.

Awards Ceremony –– awarding of First Prizes, announcement and awarding of Honorable Mentions, & presentation of "Certificates of Participation" and free CD to all contestants. Mandatory attendance for all contestants.
