WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?

March 21-22, 2008 Festival

To qualify for prizes, participants must be age 19 or younger as of 3/21/08. 

(Please note: All students who were eligible for the postponed 2007 festival will be eligible for the 2008 festival.) 

Early applications are encouraged; enrollment is limited. 

APPLICATION INFORMATION.

  • Early applications will be accepted at any time.
  • February 1, 2008 is the postmarked deadline (earlier if enrollment has peaked).
  • Later applications will be accepted if space permits, with a $10 late fee ($60 application fee total).

To qualify for First Prizes, all participants who are accepted into the festival must:

  • Be available to be adjudicated (15 minutes) on one of the festival days (March 21-22). Reasonable requests for special times will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
     
  • Attend the Friday, March 21st "Judges' Presentations"  program at 7:30 P.M.*
     
  • Attend and (if selected) perform for the Winners Recital & Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 22nd at 7:30 P.M.*

Though optional, students are also strongly encouraged to attend the "Kick-off Concert" on Thursday, March 20th and the various educational workshops to be scheduled during the festival.

* Students who cannot meet attendance requirements may, at the discretion of the Director, qualify for honorable mention prizes. Contact Dr. Houle.
