In addition to an acoustic grand piano, a Clavinova digital piano (CVP-503) will be on stage throughout
the 2012 festival. Students may play one or more selections on the CVP. The student who demonstrates the
most skill and imagination with this piano's features will receive this special prize. (Questions? Contact Dr.
Houle.)
Students who are interested, but unfamiliar with digital pianos, are invited to browse at J.B. Hart Music (or
other music stores), or try out Dr. Houle's CVP-503 (there is one in his office, CMU campus, MPAC 130)
in advance of their adjudication (please contact Dr. Houle regarding this.)
HONORABLE MENTION AWARDS
Each category may have one or more HONORABLE MENTION prizes at the discretion of the judges. Judges may award up to a total of 12 honorable mention prizes. (This number will not be exceeded except under extraordinary circumstances.)
